Text formatting
Select and edit the text by using the following formatting options:
- Font Style, Size, Color
- Bold, Italic, Underline
- Align left / right / center
- Indents / bullets / etc
User-friendly hyperlinks
Text can be hyperlinked through a simple, user-friendly Flash pop-up. The color of the hyperlinked text can be specified by you in the component properties.
Insert images and SWF's to your content
You can add and remove both images and SWF files to/from your content by using the simple and straightforward "insert image" pop-up. Image placement doesn't get much easier.
Upload images through a user-friendly interface
The FlashTexteditor includes both a user-friendly PHP based file upload interface as well as an integrated file upload interface. When publishing for Flash Player 8, you can use the integrated Flash file upload interface. This allows your user to upload images which can be then inserted through the FlashTextEditor. You can also specify the file types and the maximum file upload size.
Note: This feature requires a web server running Apache and PHP 4+ or Windows Server 2000 or higher with the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and IIS 5.0 or higher.
Full editing control
The FlashTexteditor includes familiar editing controls such as cut, copy, paste, find, replace, select all, remove formatting and paragraph formatting.
Undo/redo options
Set the undo level and allow users to undo and redo their changes.
Customized special characters insertion
There's no need for your user to enter ASCII or HTML code for special characters. Instead, they can use the built-in special character pop-up. The list of special characters available can also be customized by you.
Customizable toolbar
The toolbar of the FlashTexteditor can be customized to conform to whatever you had in mind for your CMS. You can do the following:
- Show/hide specific buttons
- Order of buttons
- Predefined list of available fonts
- Display specific font sizes only

Toggle between HTML and design view
The FlashTexteditor includes an option to toggle the display between code view (HTML) and design view.
Backwards Compatible with Flash Player 6, 7 and 8
Movies made using the FlashTextEditor can be published for Flash Player 6, 7 and 8. Please note: The text-field will not support images when publishing for Flash Player 6.
Dynamically attachable to textfields
The flashTexteditor can be attached to the textfield that you wish to edit dynamically, at run time.
CSS WYSIWYG editing
Use CSS to define the text styles and formatting options through the flashTextEditor2. Simply enter the name of the CSS file in the Component Inspector of the flashTextEditor2 and CSS styles will be available in the flashTextEditor2 controls toolbar.
Text and font formatting
Besides using pre-defined CSS styles, fonts can also be edited using: bold, italic, underline, type, size, color. Buil-in text formatting options include: alignment, indentation, bulleted list, hyperlinking, letter spacing and kerning.
Image/SWF insertion
Images and SWF's can be easily inserted into textfields.

Outputs valid XML

Outputs clean HTML code
The flashTextEditor2 outputs clean HTML code, making it possible to use this component to edit text that will be displayed on an HTML website.

CSS syles can be changed dynamically
The name of the CSS stylesheet can be changed dynamically through ActionScript. The styles available in the flashTextEditor2 component will be automatically updated to refelect the new stylesheet.

This is a developer component, which Flash developers can use with their own backend scripts in order to create their own Rich Internet Applications and content management systems.
